The health ministry of Russia had said that vaccinations could begin on a large basis by October. The people who work in a profession that comes in the category of “risk groups,” such as medical workers, maybe received the vaccine on a priority basis this month. Gamaleya Research Institute and the Defence Ministry of Russia jointly developed the COVID 19 vaccine.

On June 18, Clinical trials were started for the vaccine and a total of 38 volunteers included in it. All of the volunteers included in the trial showed strong immunity. Out of the 38 participants, 15 were discharged on July 15 and the remaining on July 20. According to Sputnik News, director of the Gamaleya National Research Centre, Mr. Alexander Ginsburg said that inanimate particles are used in the vaccines created on the basis of adenovirus. He also said that there is no worry that the COVID 19 vaccine could harm the health of a person in any way. He added, “The particles and objects that can reproduce their own kind are the ones that are considered alive. The particles in question cannot multiply.”

In spite of that, many pharmaceutical companies and industry bodies have called Russia’s speedy registration threatening. The topmost US disease specialist, Dr. Anthony Fauci, also raised questions on the hurried approach of Russia. He said, “I do hope that the Chinese and the Russians are actually testing a vaccine before they are administering the vaccine to anyone because claims of having a vaccine ready to distribute before you do testing I think is problematic at best.” The WHO said that the vaccine must go through all the stages of testing before being actually sold out.
