rahul Dravid former captain of India was selected into ICC hall of fame on Thursday before the last ODI between India and west indies. rahul became the fifth player from India who is selected into the ICC hall of fame. former Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar did all the formalities in a function. the ICC announced his induction into ICC hall of fame on July 2. Rahul joined the list that includes Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, and Bishan Singh Bedi.

Rahul scored 13288 runs in 164 Tests with 36 centuries and 10,889 runs in 344 ODIs with 12 centuries and was named as the ICC Cricketer of the Year in 2000 as well as the ICC Test Player of the Year. Rahul, who played an exceptional Twenty20 International, was also a great slip fielder and finished his career in test cricket with a world record of 210 catches in 2012.

“It is a matter of great honor to be named by the ICC in the Cricket Hall of Fame. To find your name in a list of all-time greats across generations is something one only dreams of while setting out on a cricket career and the kind of recognition that would delight any player,” Rahul said in an ICC media conference after he was included in the ICC hall of fame.
